Previews:

Game of the week:  Spartans (8-4) vs Outlaws (7-5)

This week’s key matchup should come as no surprise as the Spartans and Outlaws have been playing some of the best ball out of any team in the Legends division.  Hashim Naveed has started where he left off last year showing why he is one of the league’s premier hitters.  Outlaws however in Greg Murello have some fire power of their own and we can only imagine what the scoring could be in this one.  As in most games defense is going to be key as these teams will not have a fence to protect the long shots.

Prediction: Split

PSR (7-3) vs Wolfpack (5-7)

PSR has split three matchups in a row and are looking for a sweep here against the Wolfpack.  While both teams on paper look very similar the difference may come down to a lack of experience against each other.  The two teams did not play last year and there has been much turnover in each team’s roster since.  Both teams have low HR totals and are both poised for a breakout offensive performance.  Saad vs. Pavy is the headliner but the pitching matchup of Sanjay vs Siddique (2^nd and 3^rd in K’s) may be just as important.

Prediction: Split

Xmen (1-11) vs Grays (2-10)

If this were two weeks ago this matchup would be about as exciting as a WNBA preseason game but since the emergence of the Grays we have our eye on this one.  The Grays have split with the Ballers and PSR in back to back weeks and are digging  in.  Anything other than a sweep of the X-men and the Grays are out of the conversation.  I would comment on the X-men but they haven’t submitted stats so I will just guess that their SS and cleanup hitter are pretty good.

Prediction: Grays Sweep

Desert Eagles (11-1) vs Ballers (5-7)

This is runner up for game of the week and honestly I am still unsure if it’s the right decision.  The Eagles have one blemish on their record with a loss to PSR while the Ballers have been a team waiting to find themselves with the loss of Zeeshan.  The Skinny on the Eagles is they mash like no other team and their defense will only get better once they gel.  Ahmed, Kunal and Harp is tough for a pitcher to face and you have to imagine the Ballers are going to need to put up plus 15 runs to win.  If attendance is not an issue this could easily be the most talked about games on the site come Monday.

Prediction: Eagles Sweep

Empire (6-4) vs SWAT (6-6)

This matchup pits two teams who have a lot to prove.  Empire has split with both the Ballers and Outlaws and are in need of a statement sweep here to back up last week’s effort against the Wolfpack.  Atif is driving in the runs while the HR’s have gone silent for Empire with the leader Shazad only having 3.   I don’t know if you heard but Swat got two forfeit wins week one against the Spartans.  They are in need of showing the league they can get past the controversy and rake with Empire.

Prediction: Empire Sweep
